COLLECTIVE KICKS EXCLUSIVE: INFO ON THE BASICS PROGRAM AND FUTURE BAIT COLLABS

2014 is going to be a good year people! This past week, me and my good buddy Tyler were able to head down to the BAIT store in Diamond Bar, CA to get the new BAIT x Asics (aka BASICS) Gel Lyte III “Vanquish 1s”. While there, I was able to talk to and interview the marketing director of BAIT, Eric. During my interview with him, Eric gave me and my friend an exclusive preview of the rest of the BASICS Program, as well as what they plan to do in 2014.  In terms of the next BAIT shoe, they will be much like the “Vanquish 1,” however the camo and silver mesh will be switched in a way that will have the feel of the Vanquish, but will be a completely new shoe. As for the third shoe of the BASIC Program, Eric teased me a with the name Nippon Blues, Nippon being the Japanese word for Japan so I am not sure what to expect with that one!

After delivering that news on the BASICS program though, Eric decided to give us the news on what to expect on the collab front in 2014. According to Eric, we sneakerheads can expect to to see even more BAIT collabs with Saucony and Asics in 2014, as well their first time collaboration efforts with New Balance and Fila (I did ask if it was the Grant Hill 2, but all Eric did was grin and shrug so take that for what it’s worth)! He also teased me and my friends with news that BAIT is also in talks with Adidas to possibly do a collab with them also, something that not only shocked me, but instantly made me think of the possibilities of what they may do!

I already cannot wait for the next BASICS collab and after talking with Eric, I am already saving up my money to get these future collabs! Stay tuned over the weekend for the video of my exclusive interview with Eric and keep with Collective Kicks as we will keep you updated with all upcoming sneaker news!
