Air Jordan 5 “Laney” New Images+Release Information

The classics just keep coming this year, with more to come. Jordan brand has blessed us with a highly anticipated Air Jordan 5 Retro returning very soon. The sneakers are the Air Jordan 5 “Laney” commemorating Michael Jordan’s High School in North Carolina by utilizing the school’s colors, royal blue and varsity maize.

The last time this sneaker came out was when it was originally released back in 2000, thus the sneaker hasn’t re-released in over a decade and now is the perfect time to bring back a timeless colorway.

The 2013 Retro of this shoe features a white tumbled leather upper which seems quite nice, the original royal/maize midsole, a clear icy sole with hits of black rubber on the outsole, and that infamous Air Jordan 5 tongue. This year’s release still has the same colors featured on the tongue compared to the 2000 release but, the 2000 release Laney 5 had a very unique nubuck tongue while this year’s release features that cloth material that we know from the Air Jordan 5 “Fire Red” with the black tongue and the Air Jordan 5 “Grape”.

The sneaker is expected to retail for $170 and will most likely be available in sizes ranging from men’s to preschool and maybe even toddler.

Don’t forget that this Air Jordan 5 Retro as well as the rest of the Air Jordan 5’s expected to release will come packaged in that OG style box that this years’ past releases have come in.

This sneaker is sure to sell out quickly and is to be definitely regarded as one of the best releases of 2013.

As of now the release date for this shoe is November 2nd but it still has not been announced on Nike’s release calendar but expect it to be up soon. Other stores such as Footlocker have the sneaker projected to release on November 2nd as well on their release calendars.
