Dope Or Nope? Air Jordan 5 “Best of Both Worlds” By Mache & JBF Customs
Do you guys like this collaboration from JBF Customs and Mache? To be 100% honest, I think it’s hard to have a collaboration of this scale, both masters of their respective trades, but combined this just didn’t do it for me. Mache didn’t get to shine fully on this one, as his artistic side can’t fully be developed since there is the texture and pattern from JBF. The amazing snake skin looses it’s luster by the patterned “camo” print. To me, you cant have a textured snakeskin material along the side of a painted camo, it adds too much confusion and noise to the overall silhouette. That is my thought from the pictures at least, what do you guys think? weigh in at the comments section.
For those that are not familiar with both of these customizers here is a little background on them and why they are at the top of their respective category in sneaker customizations.
Definitely the top sneaker customizer in my opinion. What really put him on the map to the mainstream sneakerheads was the “Devastator” Lebron X customization that even King James took a liking to. He then had Lebron contact him to make him a 1 of 1 customization of the “Ironman” Lebron X. His customs are extremely detailed and he has an artistic vision for most of his sneakers that is undeniable.
JBF Customs –
I don’t know the history behind this artist of sneakers, i found them randomly on instagram, but i am very impressed. I see them known for “ground up” builds with sneakers, completely redoing a shoe with snake skin materials and the affiliation of the name “incomparable”. It is definitely more than a typical customization. They have knowledge of how the shoe’s moving parts, then they simply approve upon the classic sneakers we all know and love.
