After seeing that Jaysse Lopez (Instagram), one of the owners of Urban Necessities (Website, Instagram, Twitter) scooped up a pair of the adidas Yeezy 350 Boost V2 “Beluga” early, I had to make a trip down to best sneaker consignment shop here in Las Vegas and get a look at these extremely hyped sneakers set to release three weekends from now on September 24th, for $220.
Jay was nice enough to let me snap a few close up shots and do a quick video review of them from the back of the shop. Before I go any further, I want to give a major shout out to Jay for letting me snap some shots and do the review.
As I stated in the video, there are some differences between the V2 and the previous 350s. Here’s a rundown for people who don’t want to watch my amateur YouTube video. (I don’t blame you if you do lol)
– They run smaller. While most would agree the original 350s ran half a size big or so, the new V2s according to Jay run more narrow, much like an Ultra Boost in his opinion. The back heel also is slanted in, much like a Nike Huarache is, which probably pushes your foot forward a little. The heel area is also very well padded. So when September 24th comes around, definitely try to go half a size up if you can.
-The primeknit is much more substantial. It feels a little bit thicker in my opinion, and the toebox area is actually backed by a soft rubber type material. I believe the reinforced toebox helps the shoe keeps its shape, while adding some structure and rigidity for support. For those living under a rock, the V2s also come with that paint stripe design that runs from the heel all the way through on the lateral side.
– The midsole and outsole are semi-translucent. The rubber encasing the boost is also a lot softer, which will likely lead to boost that compresses easier. The outsole is also a separate piece from the midsole on the V2. The midsole/outsole on the original 350s is one piece.
Here are the detailed closeup shots I took. Please enjoy. Once again, I want to give a big thank you to Jaysse Lopez of Urban Necessities for giving me early access to his personal pair of adidas Yeezy 350 Boost V2 “Beluga”. Thanks bro!
