Photos have surfaced of what appears to be the upcoming signature basketball sneaker for adidas’ marquee signature athlete.
The BOOST midsole looks to be set up similarly to the Crazy Explosive, minus the pods of exposed BOOST in the heel. The outsole traction is a wild, kaleidoscope pattern that appears to cover multiple directions, so with all non-herringbone patterns, it’ll have to be court-tested. But the part of the sneaker that invokes nostalgia and déjà vu is the upper.
The assymetrical toebox, and color blocking of the first image we saw, are reminiscent of the T-Mac 1, Converse Wade 1s, and the Jordan 2010, with the lacing system that looks more like something found on the YEEZY 350’s rather than a basketball sneaker. Couple that with a neoprene bootie that’s looks like it was padded for sparring, and you can definitely see the fusion of fashion and tech styling in the sneaker.
