In 2015, the Cork material seemed to be everywhere, especially for Nike. Now, in 2016, Adidas has used the cork material on the Stan Smith, a historic shoe for the Adidas brand, and is a staple for them. Many different colorways have been created using the Stan Smith model, also including collaborations with Pharrell, Rita Ora, and others. This model replaces the traditional rubber midsole with cork. I think this is a solid iteration and doesn’t seem too loud. Adidas kept it simple, and unlike shoes such as the Nike Air Max 90 and Janoski SB last year, the whole upper isn’t made of cork.
If you are looking to pick this shoe up, there are several retailers such as Asphalt Gold, but it may be hard as retailers such as Footlocker have already sold out of them. The retail on these Stan Smiths is the same as usual, coming in at $80.
