Why I’m Hyped #1 – The Just Don Jordan 2 “Beach”

Welcome to the very first “Why I’m Hyped”, a weekly editorial where I tell you what I’m hyped about. Plain and simple. An upcoming release, a recent pickup, the most talked about topics about sneakers, anything is game during this segment. That’s really it. You’ll see why they call me Mr. Hype soon enough…

The first thing I thought last year when I heard that the man behind the Just Don premium snakeskin snapbacks, I couldn’t even begin to wonder what a Jordan 2 by that man would look like. Well, a year after releasing a hit sneaker, Don C is back with a colorway that could be better than the one he released last year.

This year’s “Beach” colorway has me hyped. Not only does the unique, cream-ish color absolutely stand out among all Jordan retro releases, but the suede hits complimenting what looks to be incredibly soft, and premium, quilted leather on the upper, inner lining and insole, would be enough to set this release high above any release so far, and any release to come. THIS IS ONE INCREDIBLE SNEAKER AND MAY BE THE BEST SNEAKER OF 2016. They didn’t nickname me “Hype” for nothing. Seriously.

However, I’m also hyped, but for not as great a reason as this incredible sneaker. The shoes come paired with a red leather Jordan strapback hat with a gold Jordan wings logo on the front. It also comes with a special, gold pin as well. The catch, and the main reason why I’m hyped? YOU HAVE TO BUY THE COMPLETE SET FOR $650. Now, for someone like me, who doesn’t buy Vans at retail (s/o OBB), $650 is a hefty price tag. Yes, it comes with special packaging as well, and the shoes by themselves are probably worth more than the $650 they’re going for, but I’ll never be able to afford a $650 pack, especially if I want to wear the sneakers and rock the hat.
