We all love classics and new releases. But when a brand collaborates with another brand or person, it’s like a double stuffed oreo- twice the love. Sometimes it produces a whole new shoe no one has made before, which gives hypebeasts heart attacks. This year had a handful of collaborations and these are my top 5 picks.
5) Ronnie Fieg X Diamond Supply Co. X Asics Gel-Lyte Pack
A shoe that has that almost “Tiffany” color with the hints of dark and light colors is just amazing. With some awesome suede and a classic model, this collaboration can be better than real diamonds- almost.
4) Nike X Doernbecher
It has been 12 years since the first Doernbecher Collection and this year had some amazing designs. Isaiah’s design on the Nike Zoom Stefan Janoski is just simply unique. With the reflective feature, bat symbol, and a subtle pop of yellow, this shoe is better looking than Batman’s suit.
3) Adidas X Kanye West (350)
You know this one had to make the list. The Yeezy Boost 350 broke people’s necks and wallets. Three colorways, “Turtle Dove”, “Pirate Black”, and “Moonrock”, released on this extremely simple yet remarkable shoe. Adidas’ boost cushion and prime knit feature made this shoe comfortable and fitting. It’s like a bouncy sock.
2) Air Jordan X Supreme
Whenever Supreme does collaborations, know it’s got to be good. This Air Jordan 5 Pack did not disappoint. In my opinion, the camouflage design is the best. With the ‘SUP’ and hints of red, these shoes are what the sneakerheads call HEAT.
1) Air Jordan X Drake (OVO)
This collaboration definitely made one of the underated Jordan Retro models a must cop. The Jordan 10 was featured with a beige leather upper and white midsole and tongue. It also features a translucent sole… WITH HINTS OF GOLD?! My neck almost broke when I first saw them. A simple design that makes it look extravagant. It was one of, if not the most hyped up and sought after collaboration of 2015.
