#FORGOTTENFRIDAY Lebron 6 “Yankees”

Lebron James and I may not have  much in common however we both share a love for the team in pinstripes. This Lebron 6 model gained much of its inspiration from the New York Yankee’s which are Lebron’s favorite baseball team. The sock-liner has several patterns of navy stripes in addition to the half white and

half navy leather upper of the shoe. The white double stacked zoom midsole also receives navy stitching in addition to the dual colored laces and outsole, on the tongue is also stitched(50-10-8) because of a game where Lebron scored 50 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and dished 8 assist.  All of this pays homage to not only the baseball team who plays just a 10 minute walk from my school, but to Lebron and his early success in the league as now he is on his 12th signature shoe. The toe The Lebron 6 is still one of the most heavily underrated sneakers in general but its nice to see our sister site KicksOnFire had written a piece about these beautiful kicks 6 years ago.  It would be nice to see some of the signature models go back to personal inspirations such as these because they often create better colorways and concepts than the forced names and stories Nike and other brands have given us recently. All in an effort to try and sell more sneakers, which by the way is a brilliant marketing strategy for profit however it strips these signature lines of personality which we would be rejuvenating to many sneakerheads.
